Plata Lappas uses a very special method of electrolysis to create its lustrous hard silver coating. Thousands of tiny, iridescent silver crystals combine to produce silverplate comparable in hardness to metal sheeting produced by rolling. All holloware pieces are manufactured with a hard metal base composition, an alloy of metals which gives each item the superior strength necessary for years of continuous usage and enjoyment. The introduction of our silver/leather collection has brought new life to the silver and possibilities, such as matching the colors of the handles with china patterns.
